Well, just a couple of comments for me for now. Cheers to you Kev, for coming up with the idea of this site! *Throws confetti* for doing a really great job on the site yourself! It's looking great. I really hope we can use this forum to close the gaps that filled the years between then and now, to meet new friends, reminisce with old, and just have a whole lot of fun!!

Kudos to the person(s) responsible for this site. As an "original" and as the parent of a couple of grads, I'm very pleased to see that the "Woburn tradition" is alive and well. Keep up the good work and I'm certain that the memories and contributions will start flowing in.

I Just finished looking through this great web site. The
picutes are great, alot of faces I recognize but having a senior
moment having trouble remembering the names. Thanks to Mr.F. for
the great pictures, keep them coming. Please keep up the great
work on this web site. One picture that needs to be on there is
Mr.Cook, gym teacher in his shorts, sexy legs back then. Seeing
Mr.Cook in those shorts made the girls day. Thanks to Cathy for
posting the web site.

There seem to be several Woburn alumni in the Peterborough
area. Kathy Chapman, Ken Murphy, and Jane Guest was here but I
am not sure if she still is. There are others whose names will
come to me later no doubt. In any case it's interesting to see
how quickly we are finding this alumni section, and also the time
of year that it occurs to us to search Woburn! My dad was one
of the people who started Curran Hall Tennis Club. This got me
wondering whether, "if we returned to our old neighbourhoods and
started knocking on doors, whether we would find ANY families
still living there"??? would love to hear from Woburn Alumni,
especially people connected with Urbania, or the trip to Italy
in '71. Best wishes all!

Thank you so much to those of you that have put this website
together. It was so great looking at the photos (especially since
mine is on the home page!!!!!) I was very sad to see the people
that are no longer with us. I knew some of them well while attending
Woburn. Again, Thanks Beverley Lane

What a great website! I actually remember some of those photos from my old year books. Although the names allude me some of the faces I recall. Those were the days in our lives that helped to shape our futures. Again, thanks for the step back in time. Mr. Flahiff keep dusting off those old photographs.

Kevin: As i said before, this is a labour of love, and, I
think I speak for all alumni, students and staff, in thanking
you for this effort. So, dear friends, raise a glass to the wonderful
last decades of the 20th century. We were really cookin' then,
and, as the director of education, Earl Campbell described us,
we were the flagship school of the Scarborough board. sadly, those
times have come and gone, never to return. The province has levelled
the schools to warehouses for kids. I recognize so many of the
names and photos on this site, and I'm filled with a fond nostalgia
for those great times. I miss you all. love, JW

By design or circumstance, I think many of us drift away from our roots, high school being one of those roots.
I have found the desire in recent years to reconnect with some of those roots, and have done so through the Classmates website. Having this website however, will be far more personal for us all. I'll check in regularly, and will be pleased to get an email from any old friends.
Thanks Kevin, and all those involved in organizing the alumni activities.

Wonderful site. I’ve enjoyed looking at some familiar
names to see what everyone has been doing the past 26 years. I
can’t believe it’s been that long, time sure does
fly by. I was deeply saddened to recognize some of the names from
the “those gone before us” section, both students
and faculty. I was hoping for a long time that someone would take
the time and energy to put together a site such as this. Well
done. I’m looking forward to hearing or at the very least
seeing some posts and comments from old friends and fellow alumni.
Thanks for doing this…

Very pleased to have a site to connect with former alumni
that isn't associated with a commercial site. Thank you for giving
us this wonderful opportunity! One suggestion I might make is
to create an ability to sort the list of alumni. Sorting by year
would be my personal preference, so those you went through school
with are easier to find. I think the ability to sort will become
more important as more and more alumni join the site.

I wanted to say Thank You to Dawn and
Carolyn for putting together such an incredible night on May 14th!
I have discovered where the Twilight Zone is and it is at your
highschool reunion - so many memories came flooding back all at
once. I had such a great time and it was so amazing to see so
many familiar faces that I hadn't seen since the 80's!! Everyone
looked so good!!! Wow! Thanks again - I know how hard it is to
put that type of event together and I think that each and everyone
of us who went truly appreciate all of Dawn and Carolyn's efforts!
Looking forward to the next one.

First of all, congrats Kev! What a great site, and so
well done!
I was planning on saying so many things here, but have been left
absolutely devastated.
One of the reasons I keep looking up sites like this one, and
Classmates and such, is.... well WAS... to find a dear old friend
from my years at Wobs.
I had been trying to reconnect with Kerry Cochrane. She was one
of the prettiest girls in school and I of course was way up there
on the "geeky" list. But she never treated me as such.
We shared a few classes together and I was always lucky enough
to sit right next to her. She helped me and I'd like to think
that I helped her.
Then when I signed up for Drivers Ed I was astounded to see her
in my car. We spent weeks together forging a good friendship that
lasted. She left Wobs (what seemed to me) suddenly, and was lost
in my memories for years.
Then one day we were talking about learning to drive and I had
a whopper of a tale to tell... this poor girl tried so very hard...
I mean, she took it seriously enough, but have you ever heard
of ANYONE getting in 3 accidents while learning to drive???!!!
( they also changed teachers after her second accident) and yet
somehow....she passed and got her license on the first try.
It has taken a few days to get this e-mail off because of the
memories. She was such a great person, and this news has rocked
me deeply. My condolences to her family, especially her kids.
I hope they read this and understand what a great impact she made
on others in her life.
I would also like to express my sympathies on the loss of Jackie
Anderson, Debbie Lees ( we went through grade school and Hudson
and then Wobs together), Michelle Press, and another closer friend
Dave Nasu.
I have been all over this country. I have some great memories
of different times, places, and people. But still my mind and
heart veer back to the days at Woburn. Maybe I should have paid
closer attention.
Thanks,

Wow, it is great to see so many familiar faces and to
have names recal happy (mostly) memories. I was there from 1972
- 1976, my brother Ron Wheaton until 1978. I still see some of
the AV crew. It is hard to let go of memories. Ron passed away
in 1992 but we still keep in touch with a couple of friends. High
school was the best of times.

It's exciting to have a venue to check out what happened
to everyone. I'll bet many people from Woburn have become extraordinary
doctors, actors, office managers, lawyers..... I can't wait to
read about old friends and see where everyone is in their lives.
Thanks Kevin for giving us that opportunity.

I've just started exporing this site that you have put
all this work into and I can't believe everything that you've
put into it. I've already seen alot of familiar names that just
bring back so many great memories. I haven't finished looking
yet but I do hope that somewhere in here that there is some type
of contact information should anyone be organizing a reunion of
some sort. Selfishly I'd love to here of one for 1978-1982, but
heh that just me. Thanks again.

A google search can turn up a lot of things..like this
site. I saw the entries of a few old friends and learned that
sadly, a couple of classmates and teachers had passed on.
I hope to get updated on a few more friends in the future.

Hello All,
I regret that I am a late arrival to the site but I must say that
I've been impressed with what has been provided.
Kev, it really is a big job to undertake but you've done it with
care and consideration. Well done!
I've seen the names of friends and acquaintances here and it has
been quite a nostalgia trip.
To most of us, Woburn has become more than a just a school building
on Ellesmere Ave, it was community and we grew with it. It was
always a starting point and as we grew older and moved further
away the feeling of belonging to the idea of Woburn never seems
to leave you.
I look forward to hearing from anyone that survived the 1970's
(and admit it)
Best to all,

Great idea, coming up with the site, excellent way to
catch up with old friends. Thanks

Hey Kevin, Once again thanks for keeping this great web
site updated. I check in once and awhile, looking for a name that
I can put a face and or a story with. Makes me laugh. Gotta remember
that Wobs was a big part of everyones lives. Four years at high
school doesn't seem long, but when I went to the reunion, and
saw a few that I have known since grade one or before. Such a
special night. Hopefully there will be another day to get together
with past friends. Seeing over 100 friends in one night. Wow that
was the best. Thanks Again.

It's great to see some familiar names even if you can't
remember the faces. Great job on this site. "Woburn once,
Woburn twice, holy jumpin'...."

It's great for an old sentimental geezer like myself
to see a website for dear Woburn. I'm looking forward to our 50th
in 2012/13, and hope to bring another Woburnite with me to the
REUNION. Cheers,

I just wanted to show my appreciation toward some of
the best teachers I have ever come across, and that's counting
university professors.
Favourite Teachers (in no particular order):
1) Mr. Thomson: I hope I got the spelling correct. He was, I believe,
our Science teacher and he also coached rugby. This man could
take even a pile of dirt and make it seem interesting! Science
class was always a blast. (not literally) hehe
2) Mrs. Gavin: Feisty little lady. Unfortunately she was misunderstood
by most students as being too strict, which is too bad because
even though she seemed hard on the outside, I always thought she
was probably a very nice person on the inside. She just had to
be tough because let's face it, we were troublemakers. ;)
3) Mr. Najarian: The greatest math teacher EVER, without question!
He had faith in me even though I sucked horribly at math. (not
an exaggeration) Being recognized by Najarian drove me full speed
at Calculus. I was never an excellent math student, but Mr. Najarian's
teaching style forced me to try to grow beyond my limitations.
Simply put, he was awesome. Not to mention the one-handed circle-drawing
on the chalk board. That was just plain cool. haha
4) Mrs. Lloyd: She always looked out for us and was always there
to help. The year I was in it, the Woburn co-op program went on
without a hitch and I'm sure Mrs. Lloyd had a big hand in that.
Sorry for those whom I've missed. My memory is certainly a bit
fuzzy. Must have been all those late nights and the coffee. Hehe.
I just wanted to pay my respects to these special people above
and to let them know that they have definitely made a positive
difference in this world.

Stumbled across this site while googling for no apparent
reason. Fantastic.
I've spent a few hours looking up old friends and surfing through
the different pages. A great trip down memory lane. I've sent
e:mails to all my friends that I am still in contact with to direct
them here.
Kevin and all involved keep up the great job your doing.
