I own a house in Oakville with my boyfriend Mark of

I still hang out with Will Turpin and Kathy Norris
from Woburn. Something that I'm still proud of about
Woburn was that even though the school was segmented
(jocks, rockers, misfits, gifted etc), everyone got

Me: I received an email this week from Mr.
Flahiff who included a link to this site! What a great
idea! I have so many amazing memories from my days
at Woburn. We were all so lucky to have gotten to
experience such a great high school. Every time I
hear "Hold Me Now" by the Thopmson Twins
I feel like I should be walking to home room :-) I
will always remember the french fry lady in the cafeteria,
the dance marathon, the grade nine hike, the smoking
lounge (I never even smoked and still hung out there),
the jock hall,those amazing assemblies and freezing
my buns off cheering for the football team in November!
Mr. Laver, Mr. Haig, Mr. Glickman and Miss Phillips
were some of my favourite teachers - and of course
Mr. Flahiff! I
still keep in touch with a few Woburnites and we
all laugh at our old memories - (I am still close
friends with Jane). I went to York U after highschool
(along with Jane) and graduated with a degree in
Psychology and Health & Society- unrelated to
my degree I have made my career in marketing and
currently work for a large company in Toronto. I
still make Toronto my home although have not been
back to Scarborough in a long time. I would love
to hear from some old friends. |

was brought to my attention by another alumna - I
had forgotten about it). |

About
Me: After Woburn I studied at the University
of Toronto, earning a B.A. in Philosophy, Political
Science and Cinema Studies, and an M.A. in Political
Science. I then made a career as a film programmer
and critic. I worked at the Art Gallery of Ontario
from 1989-1998 as the curator of film and video, as
well as an educator and performing arts programmer
(principally music and dance). From 1993-1998 I also
made documentary films on visual artists and filmmakers,
and I have written dozens of articles and essays on
film, music, visual art, architecture, books and culture.
In 1998 I joined the high profile design studio Bruce
Mau Design (http://www.brucemaudesign.com) where I
am presently the Vice-President, Development. We develop
identity programs, books, exhibitions, environmental
graphics, art installations, live events, retail environments,
research, strategies, and conceptual programs. Our
work takes us all over the world but, right now, is
principally based in the U.S.
I got married in 1996 and we had a daughter in 1998.
Both bring me great comfort, joy and inspiration and
keep me human when my schedule gets too crazy.
I have many great memories from Woburn but I'll nominate
the grade 13 American History trip to Washington in
1981 (I was still in 12 but taking Mr. Laver's 13
history course) as number one. It was informative,
somewhat debauched, and personally inspiring for me.
I
also have fond memories of listening to CWCI
in the mornings and at lunch. Music meant more to
me than anything during those years so, even though
I officially pretended not to like much of the playlist,
the songs still stick in my head: a delightfully odd
mix of Supertramp, the Sex Pistols, Leo Sayer, the
Boomtown Rats, the Rolling Stones, Gerry Rafferty...
Through
vigilant efforts, I am in touch with many of my friends
from high school: Wendi Brklacich (who I went out
with from 1981-1983), Lisa Godfrey, Sara Heinonen,
Dave Keyes, Kim Dawson (vaguely), Denise Waldron (nee
Codlin), Barry King, and a few others. Not to mention
a few teachers like Barbara Blasko (my favorite teacher,
I think, along with Mr. Laver). There are others I
would like to track down: Bob Makinson, Don Busbridge,
Lisa Rae, and many others. |

Me: Life has been an adventure since my days
at Woburn. Went to Seneca from '77 to '80 and then
joined the workforce in sales. Was immediately transfrerred
to London (sadly just Ontario, not U.K.) then after
4 yrs there, career took me to the West. I spent 16
yrs out there (Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver) and became
a bit of a cowboy in the process! Career then brought
me to Montreal in the fall of 2000. Easy to see that
I can't hold a city! Love what I do (develop products,
brands, sell, etc) and as a benefit I get to travel
throughout North America and parts of the globe. I've
been divorced for a bunch of years...no kids. Currently
single and searching for the cure!! Have great memories
of all things Woburn...great friends (many of which
endure), great teachers (they might not remember me
in the same light...something about yapping a little
too much!), great events and parties. Just wish that
I'd paid more attention in French classes, who knew
that one day it would come in handy...Sacre bleu!!!

Me: I am living the country life just outside
of Collingwood. I live with my husband and two beautiful
dogs, we also each have our own horse. I enjoy reconnecting

Married Ernie Mileta and I am currently a stay at
home Mom to our Twin girls who will be 4 in June.The

About
Me: Since leaving Woburn I married, produced
2 wonderful boys who are now 23 & 21 respectivly.
I stayed home to raise the kids but have volunteered
at many organizations. Updating my skills is now my
prime concern. Reconnecting with "old" friends
would be wonderful! My favorite membory at Woburn
was attending ALL the football games. I have since
attended All my sons football games. What a kick!!!

Me: After Woburn, attended York University
and completed my B.A. and B.Ed. concurrently. I'm
a middle school teacher with the TDSB. Who would have
thought I'd be a teacher? Still taking courses on
the side and and enjoying being at the other end of
the education system. I'm also the Principal Dancer
and Rehearsal Director for a Professional dance company
in TO. So I'm still in school and still dancing.....nothing
much has changed :) Best memories.....hmmmm.....cramming
in the caf an hour before exams :):):).....still the
queen of b.s-ing ;) |
